When was the last time you checked who had access?

We’re wrapping up our access control reminders with one last check that’s quick to do but makes a real difference. Take a moment to review who has access today, before we shift into a new focus next week.
Over time, access lists can quietly grow. Staff move on, contractors finish up, and old fobs, keys, or codes sometimes get forgotten about. If they’re not removed, those access points could still be active, leaving your site less secure than you think.
Now’s a great time to review your access list. Are there any ex-employees, contractors, suppliers, or even house sitters who still have access? Are there old codes floating around that haven’t been changed in months? If your site uses keypads, it’s also a good habit to update codes regularly.
A five-minute check now could save you hours of headaches later. We recommend setting a calendar reminder to check your access records every few months, that way it becomes a habit, not an afterthought.
