Good afternoon! We’re back with Part 5 of our Tips of the Week series, and this one’s an important reminder. Whether you’re managing a business or looking after a property, fire safety is critical to keeping people safe.
First things first, take a look at your fire extinguishers. Are they in date and ready to use? And just as important, can you actually get to them in a hurry? You’d be surprised how often they end up hidden behind shelves, stock, or furniture. If your extinguishers aren’t easily accessed, move it now before second’s matter.
Next, check that your alarms and sprinkler systems are tested regularly. It’s not just about peace of mind; it’s a legal requirement to keep them compliant. At HSM, we handle these checks for you, keeping your systems up to standard and your paperwork in order so you don’t have to.
And lastly, if you’ve had new team members join recently or it’s been a while since your last drill, take the time to walk everyone through your evacuation plan.
